Seeing you makes me nearly crash
into so many people, including

the girl whose hair piled up
on her head and deliberately fake

application of rouge on her cheeks,
also the dangling ear-rings,

you’d think would give her
an exhibitionist air,

yet perhaps she is trying to distract
from her beauty, not flaunt it,

or at least not flaunt it at me, whose
surreptitious observation of her

for the last couple of blocks
I think she must have noticed,

from the way, when I nearly crash
into her now, she flinches

in the manner of someone feeling
they are being nearly crashed into

on purpose, whereas, really,
it was just the surprise of seeing you!
