Chaka Khan sings deep through
the hills of Bombay coming back
from Tauranga and Waitomo where

bit of a story to tell . . .
we watched stalagmites
and stalactites of the night calling

this one's the elephant and
that looks like Tina Turner's hairdo
he said I will never forget

the spinnerets dangling
hundreds instead of thousands
the boatman using no oars

just tow lines slung from one side
of the cave to the other and we get
dripped on and if we stood still

didn't swing we'd become pinnacles
but movement is a beast counts its fingers
drives you home hugs you says goodbye
